Frame of Mind – LED Displays

The frame surrounding the central image of a LED display plays an important role in snap frame design. The frames secure the display in place and come in a variety of sizes. Not only does the frame contain the LED lights that illuminate the display it can alter the overall style of the structure. Let’s look at common colour choices for snap frames

The most common generic frame is silver. This works for most displays and blends with more colour palettes. It also tends to work with the structures around it such as the metal frames of buses. It works well in an industrial type setting.

Black is another choice that seen a bit more frequently with LED displays. This frame is used for darker toned images. It is less visible and blends with the display better than a traditional silver frame. The idea is to make the frame less visible and pay more attention to what is on display.

Wood is an uncommon material to use for a snap frame. It gives a more natural look to a LED display. It’s best suited to a cottage-like setting and creates an interesting creative look. However, it does not wear well with a display that needs to be frequently changed. The wood snap frame is used for a more permanent display item such as a mirror or special photographic image.

The new trending snap frame is the invisible or frameless LED display. This type is associated with fabric display and not acrylic. The fabric is light and flexible and needs less support than an acrylic display. The frame is shifted to the sides of the display and can accommodate large images such as art canvases.

  2. Snap frame are lightweight, easy to position and transport, and the most versatile of all display systems. They reduce labour costs because they can be positioned by one person. Snap frames also allow for better flexibility in changing the location of display elements at any time.
